Windows 11 won't let me install driver for my old Dell 1355cn/cnw Color Laser Printer

I can go to the Dell site and download the appropriate driver but when I try and install it, I get a message saying Microsoft doesn't recognize the driver and I ought to go to the Microsoft App Store.

This is the description for the driver at the Dell site:

"Description

This software suite and driver help you setup the printer for PC running on the following Microsoft Windows Operating Systems: Vista (32/64-bit), 7 (32/64-bit), 8(32/64-bit), 8.1 (32/64-bit), 10 ( 32/64-bit), Server 2003 (32/64-bit), Server 2008 (32/64-bit), 2008 R2 and Server 2012."

Does this mean my printer is obsolete and I need to buy a new one?

According to the table here, footnote 3 applies, and the driver is supposed to be known to the Windows 11 OS. Have you tried connecting it and asking Windows to attempt to identify it and find the driver on its own?

3 Print drivers are installed automatically when the compatible printer is connected to an operating Windows 10 and Windows 11 device via USB and both devices are on the same network. Note: Windows 10 and Windows 11 drivers in OS means that it is included with Windows 10 and Windows 11.

Go to 'settings'
Select 'Apps'
Select 'Advanced app settings'
Check the drop-down menu for 'Choose where to get apps'
You don't want the Microsoft only option

Meanwhile, the driver description doesn't mention Windows 11. ????

Above the three choices that you see (wrote), that on my machine I also see, there is the 'choose where to get apps' option also.

Perhaps do a Windows search of the phrase, choose where to get apps.

Buena suerte

Windows 11 is not listed as a compatible operating system for the Dell 1355cn lazer color printer.

I got out of S mode which allowed me to make more progress but when I got to the Install Wizard page that said "install", nothing happens when I click on that
