Permanently Banned from Commenting on You Tube.
I have only been using You Tube for about a year. I'm an elderly lady and certainly don't use violent language or hate speech. I had two warning messages a couple of months ago and never knew why, so I thought I was being especially careful. I got a message that disappeared so quickly I couldn't read it, and havent been able to post since. Is there any way to appeal this, or at least find out what I did that got me banned?

(28 posts)Wouldn't they recognize same phone and info? Oh, well I may try it anyway. But I will definitely stop posting on the Russian troll sites if I ever get back on.

(13,564 posts)Sorry about your YouTube woes. I've never set up a login there, so I can't shed any light on what they're thinking.

(8,639 posts)YouTube administrators cannot help. Additionally, you can be banned from commenting if your message was flagged as spam. This action happens if you repeat the same comment multiple times, send links to external websites, or comment before watching a certain amount of the video.
Did you do any of these? Is it on one channel (the creator may have blocked you) or all channels?

(52,241 posts)Sometimes I comment on You Tube thinking I will surely get a warning. Instead I end up getting positive replies. I don't understand it either.

(3,706 posts)YouTube is Google now, and Google is allergic to human intervention in anything. You were probably banned by an algorithm acting on some kind of pattern. Whether it was fair or not Google will not connect you with a human to challenge or correct the situation. They are infamous for this.
