Coming here because I don't know where to go.

UPDATE - The problem went away on its own, but I want to report that I got an amazing reply from the forum manager of answers.microsoft.com, a support site peopled by volunteers. (I THINK they're volunteers... not MS employees anyway.) He re-stated my problem perfectly and told me some first steps to take to get more information for him. Since it wasn't at all clear that this was an Outlook problem, I was impressed. I always get good help from that site.

I got my first smart phone a while ago. I'm 79 and if I didn't have easy contact with my daughter I'd be dead in the water.

As is so often the case I don't know who to contact for help with my ERR_CONNECTION_CLOSED problem.

Should I contact AT&T, my provider? Should I contact Apple/Iphone, the phone/OS provider? Should I contact Google because I'm using their browser on my phone? Should I contact Microsoft because I had just logged on to my Outlook.com account when I got the error?

On the off chance that this is a common occurrence, I'll detail the problem here.

I downloaded the Chrome app yesterday. I forget whether or not I've successfully looked at any sites. I'm trying to get at my e-mail.

I enter outlook.com in the browser search field. I forget exactly what I saw, but I was able to get to logon (URL changes to outlook.live.com just as it does on my computer. I enter my username and password. Right after I enter my password I get the ERR_CONNECTION_CLOSED problem. I'm at home where we don't have connection problems. I'm connected to our WIFI.

At one point I did decline to download the Outlook app. I just didn't want to deal with layers of complexity.

Anyway, my primary question is who should I go to for help? If anyone can address the specifics, that would be great!

I'd take it to them. It's hard to solve a computer or digital phone problem over the phone or via email. If you do have to call them you might try using another phone. You'll be needing to look at and possibly change options on yours.

Good luck.
