Dashlane stopped auto filling so I ended up with them on the phone and they said
I needed to renew Outlook. I don't use Outlook as far as I know. They pop up a lot when I try to send an email and I just close it up.
Do I need that stupid thing? I don't even know how much it costs? If I get rid of it will Dashlane keep working? I liked the way Dashlane auto filled things.
Thank you for any advise

(18,073 posts)If you don't count the Microsoft baggage that comes with it.
I don't use it but a Windows 11 update this week installed a new version of Outlook on my computer - and I immediately uninstalled it. Nothing SHOULD stop working - I guess this depends a lot on how you have configured your computer.
You could try making a system restore point, then uninstalling Outlook and see what happens.

(22,976 posts)me how many microsoft processers stopped. Maybe I should call them back and ask them to uninstall Outlook. It seemed like the page I got them referred to money but they had some 365 thing for free.
To tell the truth I am so damn confused now I can barely remember my name. Why would Microsoft stop working?
Anyway I will uninstall Outlook if I can keep the brain cells in their shell long enough, (I have filled out so many things today - including a BBB complaint toward a driveway paver company looking for my money back, (a mere $4,800) and also filing a scam report against them. Without Dashlane it is a great big pain in the ass.
What was the question?

This is a scam, they are trying to steal your money.
Never let anybody you don't know connect to your computer.

(11,595 posts)Did you give them a credit card number?
If so, call her credit card company and notified them of possible unauthorized transaction.
You also need to uninstall the software you used to let them connect to your computer.

(22,976 posts)set up alerts and supposedly they are going to send me more information about how to keep my account safe.
I am mostly worried about my bank account

(22,976 posts)And I thought they were going to fix this easy. But after the guy brought up renewing Microsoft and I asked a question he answered and then hung up the phone. I'm sorry but that is sucky business.

(18,073 posts)What Dashlane is. I understand it is a password manager. They shouldn't be urging you to update Microsoft or anything else that you are not sure about. Sounds a bit suss to me.
