HP laptop cannot see embedded camera ...
..or even an USB camera. The Dir command sees it, but in the settings it says no camera is installed. Since I do not have a Windows 11 disk how or where can I find a driver or a reinstall for this camera? HP.com sees the laptop but it does not have any reinstalls for drivers. where can I find drivers for cameras?
Thanks for whatever info you may have.
Sincerely, Cat in Seattle

(4,328 posts)To access it right click on the Start Button and select Device Manager. See if Camera is listed. If listed click to expand and your camera should show. If the computer is detecting it then it should show there. HP might have a later driver for the built in camera. Double click to open up properties. There should be a drivers tab.
You can also try Uninstall Device and rebooting to let the computer detect it again.

(18,460 posts)For your make and model then try to find a camera driver. Download and install and hopefully that should fix it.
