VERY late to the party, but finally got an iPhone (first-ever smartphone, too!)

Last edited Tue Oct 29, 2013, 05:28 PM - Edit history (3)

After using Macs (started way back in 1989--oof, has it been that long?), iPod touches and iPads for quite a while, I finally broke down and got an iPhone 5c a week and a half ago. Now that I'm on AT&T like they are, I can finally call my parents across the country any time I want without having to use any minutes, which would have made it worth getting all by itself.

It's also my first experience with iOS7 and (after some minor tweaks) I'm really liking it so far. It's a far cry from my six-year-old dumbphone, that's for sure. There's really no comparison.

Edited to add: a lot of 5s users on other forums are looking down their noses at the 5c, saying it feels cheap. It feels plenty solid to me and everything is very well constructed; the rounded edges and steel subframe give it a very nice "in hand" feel, imo. This is obviously my own personal preference, but I just couldn't warm up to the feel of the 5s. It might sound crazy, given that the 5c has a polycarbonate back, but for all its sleek glass and aluminum, the lighter weight made the 5s feel more fragile to me.

I like the new 4 digit password option to unlock screen. Treat it well and it will reciprocate ...

Nattering nabobs (R) gotta do the negatory thang, I 'spose. Pay no mind to them.
