I use a Safari extension that makes my default search engine Duck Duck Go.

I give nothing to the Google Borg.

get better results than with Google, and the Borg isn't watching over my shoulder.

DuckDuckGo and Ixquick claim to have nobody looking over your shoulder, but others I've used in the past, like Scroogle and have morphed into something else.
