... they're better built, faster, problem free, mostly virus attack free until fairly recently, good machines for processing graphics .....
And very expensive.
I'm hoping to inherit one of my daughters' Apple laptops with a solid state drive.

(2,863 posts)5. The Fusion Drive was a big disappointment.
I have twin 27"iMacs and Apple could easily have offered 1TB SS drives but instead made the fusion drive standard.
One of the macs has been in for service twice and still kicking up problems that I personally blame on the drive scheme.
When Applecare ends I may crack one of them open and install a 2TB SSD.
