Help....my OS X won't turn on by just tapping the mouse anymore....

I will put it to "sleep" and later when I want to use it again, I have to turn it on by pressing the button on the back of the monitor, whereas before, I could just tap the mouse and it would come on. Don't know what's up with the mouse.....has been acting like this for the past couple of days. Don't know what to do. Thanks for any help.

If mine sleeps for a long time, I have to use the trackpad or the actual power button; the Magic Mouse disconnects after a fairly short time to save battery life. (OS 10.7.3, 27" iMac)

so it isn't off for any real length of time. Well I guess at night it's off for 8 - 10 hours. The mouse just isn't the same as when we first got it, but thanks for your thoughts.

Half my operating problems are due the mouse. Good luck there.

have you tried tapping one of the keys on your keyboard? Will that wake it?
I guess I'm trying to find out if this is mouse-related or sleep-related?

don't know why it wasn't "waking" but unplugging it did the trick, it's working fine now. Just a "bug" I guess. Thanks for your concern.
