It’s happened to mine before, cleaning it fixed it

Edit: spray a cloth, not your phone

You will need your serial number or IMEI number which they can help you find if you can’t find it. If your eyesight isn’t the best up close, you may want to have a magnifying glass or glasses handy.

They saved my tail for years. It’s the reason why I am still an apple customer.

If the above suggestion doesn't work, I'll call them. It's not crucial. I can still access everything with my PIN.

My s-i-l had some issue with her mac computer, and the help line was quite unhelpful. It's kept me away from mac computers.

5. Yes, it's easy to retrain it

I have a very old iPhone (and iOS), but for me, to retrain it:

- Settings
- Touch ID & Passcode
- Fingerprints

Select the old fingerprint and delete it. Then 'Add a fingerprint' to retrain.

You can add multiple fingers and name them ))

I seem to need to retrain every six months or so now. Not sure why but I think my aging hands are a factor.
