Related: About this forumHappy birthday to my phone!
I've had my iPhone 4 a year now! A year goes fast when one actually likes the phone they use.

One of those rare purchases that have given me no regrets...

(18,470 posts)That Storm was a piece of junk. I was so happy to get an iPhone, which is better in every respect. Even now after several version upgrades it still runs great. I had to do a battery pull every other day with a BlackBerry because of its crappy memory management scheme otherwise it would freeze up, I think I've rebooted the iPhone less than a dozen times this year.
The camera was a piece of junk on the BlackBerry. Unless conditions were perfect the image quality was not good. With the iPhone, while it's not a replacement for my regular camera, even the 5 megapixel iPhone camera takes pretty good pictures. When I was on vacation and didn't feel like lugging my regular camera around I just took my iPhone and used its camera.

(106,473 posts)if they make it bigger (as has been rumored)... I may well keep mine (Iphone 4) until they make me upgrade...LOL

(18,470 posts)When I got my phone I bought the trade in thing from Best Buy where I can trade the phone in when I upgrade and get a gift card. So I'll probably upgrade to the 5 when the time comes - which would be February if it comes out this fall. Then I'll probably just hang on to the phone for the next several years until Apple stops supporting the phone.

(106,473 posts)I'm certainly interested in the 5, but I'd be ok waiting until the early adopters identify and fix the "kinks"...

(18,470 posts)I too thought the 1.67 years thing was going away when I got my phone, but I guess it didn't.

Sick I know.
Enjoy your phone!

(106,473 posts)I tend to name cars I've owned... maybe I need to do that for my iphone too.
The iPad is called Irene.
My recently dearly departed MacBook was called Snowflake (may she RIP).
My new MacBook Pro is called Lucy.
And, while not a mac, my GPS is called Bertha.
I dont' know how it happened, but there you have it.
Well, I once had a green subie outback I named "Clover" .... 'Haven't named the Prius yet.
My iphone ought to be named something like Einstein, because it clearly is my "brainy support device," but it just seems like it should be female. So, I'll have to keep thinking on that.
