(13,617 posts)but I tend to wait about 2 months for the less obvious itchy scratchys to get worked out unless I'm on bug hunting duty. I'm not this roll out.

(28,394 posts)I don't think I'll even reinstall from the final release isos. Aside from some expected glitches at the beginning, everything smoothed out rapidly and I've had no issues with Unity or Lubuntu whatsoever. Both beautifully stable. I also ran Ubuntu Gnome 14.04 and liked it a lot. It, too, was very stable. With that one, though, I was unable to sort out Netflix, and having tried the several fixes available, lost patience. (This is not, however, an issue for most computers, I gather. So no reason to avoid using Ubuntu Gnome 14.04, based on my comments.) Today I install the final release of Xubuntu 14.04 and will put it through its paces. I've lost a little love for Xfce lately, not sure why. We'll see if 14.04 changes that. Finally, on the subject of 14.04 base, if you're adventurous and reasonably experienced, Deepin 2014 is a great beauty; it's in ALPHA and not recommended for production at this time. I look forward to seeing what Linux Mint Cinnamon can do on 14.04. All in all, 14.04 is the very best Ubuntu ever, in my opinion. It should do wonders for a whole lot of Ubuntu-based distros.
