Disable / bypass Gmail spam filter

Last edited Sat Jan 26, 2013, 10:53 AM - Edit history (3)

I download email directly into my email tool, so I never look in the web based Gmail spam folder. I noticed a lot of messages were getting placed there ... there is no way in Gmail to easily disable spam filtering ... and I use my own spam tools. Passing this along to anyone that might find it of value.

PS: Some have also suggested adding a 4th filter using the same parameters with your user name@gmail.com

And as a 5th filter @ in the TO field, and indicated as same parameters.

I am using all 5 filters and getting ALL of my email now directly to my own filtering tools. ... is working fine for my needs.

so pretty much everything that comes in on it is spam.
Just like my yahoo box is primarily a spam catcher.
I have 5 boxes through my ISP and 4 on my domain. Each is used for different purposes and not for general use so it's easy to filter out the spam and phishing.

Google in effect censoring my email and telling me what is spam. I need a permanent email address, so that's why I went with Gmail. Other than the spam issue for me it's worked quite well. These filters seem to be working fine and redirecting all of my email into the web based inbox which I just pull down into my spam filters here locally which then port to my mail tool. I don't see why Google doesn't have an easy option to set for no spam filtering. When I looked in my spam folder on Google they had a lot of stuff that was not even remotely spam.
