Because the price of gas just dropped half a dollar a gallon at the COSTCO in my neighborhood. Welcome to my world!
BEWARE! You are close to entering the Big Bad Barack Obama Group, or as residents call it, the BOG. It is a SAFE HAVEN for those who CELEBRATE the policies and achievements of President Barack Hussein Obama.
This is you last chance to escape the Borg of the BOG, or Obamanista Collective. Resistance is Futile here. If you are not willing to be absorbed, click fast to get away and have a nice day.
P. S. I am not in charge here, fortunately. My super powers exist solely within the twilight zone of internet paranoia and my delusions of grandeur. What, you don't have any?

I blame Obama when I run out of coffee creamer. He probably drinks his black, and that\'s what\'s wrong with him. Obama haters drink too much coffee and act like hyperventilating chihuahuas.

I thank my lucky stars to wake up on Planet Earth when the Sun rises in the morning but only think of Obama when I visit DU. IrishAyes goes to sleep with an Obama lullaby every night. Well, not really, but she knows I love her.

LOL at your poll.. I chose two 'cause it was the closest to what I wanted.. but, in reality, I'm actually glad Pres Obama gets to have a life after he leaves office. He's done, doing, and will do so much for our Country and many of us personally that I'm thinking the next phase of his life will be spectacular.. just not in the White House.

The exchanges are being pushed heavily in my state, and it has helped our state budget funds. It's good for us overall.
As far as what he's done, if I was religious, I'd go with the belief that when his life is done, he will receive many 'crowns in Heaven' for standing firm for 'the least of these.'
Cha
(305,447 posts)not religious either. .. but that works.

(94,726 posts)Over a period of several years -- I couldn't seem to help myself! -- I also got one with "Obama Ohana" on it, and a spam musubi bento. Then one with a class photo of cute local kids that says "Hawaii USA 1972--Could you have predicted which one would become president?" These were all at Cafe Press, and probably still are. You have to search through a lot of dreck to find just the right thing, but for me it was worth it because I knew what I wanted.
The last one has the birth cert on one side and a pic of the prez on the other with "Made in USA" -- that one I got from the Dem Party.
BOG fohevah!
human in that dept?
He forgot to salute a Marine once and went right back down to do it and shook his hand. Bet he had some great words for the Marine, too. But, he still got lambasted for that.. come to think of it.. PBO has to be perfect!

Example 2:
Team Obama/Biden has done a great job for America.
AFAIK, nothing the hell is wrong with my apostrophe key. It's the Poll.
And it only shows up when posted. I used to go back and edit to eliminate it by rewording the apostrophed text.
However, I'm among friends here and don't worry about it.
Please post a poll and let me know how contractions can be used without getting that slash.

FDR was also referred to as *that man*.
As we all know, there were problems:
The Business Plot...
How did that work out?
...A good rule of thumb: never trust a man named Smedley to run your hostile military coup for you. Besides being no fan of fascism, Smedley Butler was both a patriot and a vocal FDR supporter. Apparently none of these criminal masterminds noticed that their prospective point man had actively stumped for FDR in 1932.
Smedley spilled the beans to a congressional committee in 1934. Everyone he accused of being a conspirator vehemently denied it, and none of them were brought up on criminal charges. Still, the House McCormack-Dickstein Committee did at least acknowledge the existence of the conspiracy, which ended up never getting past the initial planning stages.
Though many of the people who had allegedly backed the Business Plot also maintained financial ties with Nazi Germany up through America's entry into World War II. But at least the United States never ended up becoming a fascist dictatorship (unless you ask Ron Paul supporters).
The lesson here? Fascist or not, you don't fuck around with guys named Smedley or Dickstein.

(39,320 posts)I subscribe to this group and I read it, but I don't tend to post much anywhere these days.
I voted that Obama is the best president of my lifetime, and this is saying a lot as I am not young. I remember Kennedy (I was in junior high when he was assassinated), and I would have said that he was the best president before this presidency.
I don't agree with some of his decisions, but I do think he does what he feels is right.

(1,805 posts)I just discovered this group. The Snowden BS is really getting me down. There sure are some pitbulls around here - especially in the GD. I voted in our little poll also. Same thing with JFK, although I was a freshman in high school. Remember teachers crying and watching our b&w TV. The broadcast was in b&w anyway.
One of my grandsons is biracial and was here on election night in 2008. The three of us (Pa, Mimi and Scott) were all in tears. Ok, they were misty eyed, I was outright sobbing.
One of the best nights of my life. Little did I know what was to come. So much good* (caution swear word below), with so much crap like the Tea Party, BP, Japan, mass shootings, Trayvon, Gabby, etc - all PBO's fault of course.
Yep, our man could walk on water and he'd get blamed for getting government socks wet! http://whatthefuckhasobamadonesofar.com
