On edit, you probably know I am a Greenwald supporter, but I don't hate President Obama for what was revealed by Greenwald. I just pray he will reverse it. I still have hope because I still think President Obama is a good and decent man.

(87,578 posts)I love the slice of Boston Stronger, er, Cream Pie~ i bet the Prez had a piece when he was here!
. The president talked to the girls team first, then the boys. He tried to start a little trouble: Can you guys beat the boys? Obama asked the girls, and one said. Oh definitely.
. Obama singled out one girl: You dont look like youre in junior high school, he said to a young girl, Julia, who is 9. Meeting the president, she had said earlier today, was on her bucket list. Heres a general rule, Obama said. When youre 9, you dont need a bucket list, and the girls laughed. When you get to be 52, then you might want to draw one up. With the boys, Obama took a soft pass from one of the players, caught up to it and played with the ball for a couple of seconds (to oohs) before passing it back to the team.
Let's here it for the girls!
Thanks for the pie, freshwest~

(305,447 posts)and grab a bite! He is looking thinner today.. but, hopefully he can put some meat on his bones soon.
Tomorrow he's giving his speech on the 50th Anniversary of MLK's "I Have A Dream".
"Thousands expected at march, rally honoring MLK's legacy, organizers say"

"Sharpton told the AP that Saturdays observances are aimed to highlight key civil rights issues dominating the national conversation, including New Yorks controversial stop-and-frisk policing tactics, which critics have characterized as racial profiling, and Floridas "Stand Your Ground" self-defense statute.
Those issues along with unemployment, health care and education are what will bring Yvette Young to the march. The 52-year-old Virginia resident and vice president at the Urban League of Hampton Roads hopes her daughter, 14, will have a better life than she did.
"My life hasn't been so bad, but I grew up in the 60s," Young said, adding that she had to witness a lot of discrimination. "I hope for a much better road for her," she added.
Saturdays march and rally come two months after the Supreme Court struck down a key anti-discrimination provision of 1965s landmark Voting Rights Act, triggering a wave of new voting laws and rules in several states and prompting a chorus of criticism from prominent African-American leaders.

Speakers at the Wednesday observance will include President Barack Obama and former Presidents Bill Clinton and Jimmy Carter, according to the events website.

(305,447 posts)Obamacare. We'd still be in Iraq and the war in Afghanistan would not be winding the fuck down. It's definitely a struggle but one in which the President and his supporters are more than up for the challenge.
And, that's where you are.. in the Barack Obama Group.

Gee, I feel so much better. Guess I'll take a nap through 2016...

(6,151 posts)While his reach will always exceed his grasp under these conditions, it's not as if he's been helpless or ineffective. That's surrender talk. If he had been, the neocons wouldn't be so wild to depose him. So everybody who wants to complain 'there's nothing he can do about it' had better get off his duff and put his shoulder to the wheel. Otherwise such 'sympathy' rings hollow.

(87,578 posts)Look at all the weight he has carried as President. He still stands tall and proud.
He will face the decisions about Syria in his own thoughtful way. We can be thankful that we have a President that will make an educated decision. He will look at all sides, the good, the bad and the ugly before he acts. He will stand behind the decision he makes.
