Cross post from GD, because I know the BOG cares about Obamacare, and the fate of 30 million Americans.John Boehners Answer on Syria is to Hold More Votes To Kill Obamacare
Politico reported that with the Congress facing critical votes on Syria, funding the government, and the debt ceiling, Speaker of the House John Boehners big plan for the fall is to hold more votes to stop Obamacare:
At the same time Washington is focused on Syria, advisers to Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Tex.) say he plans to intensify his crusade against Obamacare. Conservatives in both the House and Senate are determined to prosecute their case for defunding the Affordable Care Act, and even the House leadership will continue trying to roll back the law just as its beginning to go into effect.
We have not ruled out defunding Obamacare in the , a House GOP aide said. House Speaker John Boehner has also said he plans a series of votes in a continuing effort to curtail the law for instance, adding a requirement that income and eligibility be verified for people getting benefits. Aides hope a measure like that could get some Democratic buy-in.

Syria, funding the government, and the debt ceiling. John, remember these issues? Oh and by the way, where are the jobs? That's what I thought!
The aides hope a measure like that could get some Democratic buy-in.! What the hell have they been drinking!?

.. you know the Health Care Law that's saving lives and gives millions of people affordable health insurance.
What a legacy he's striving for.
Thanks, she, for bringing it to the BOG, too.

"The new Kaiser Family Foundation study looking at Obamacares likely impact on health insurance costs is getting a lot of attention, and rightly so. As Bloomberg News puts it, this is the the broadest look yet at what consumers will pay for health insurance when the Affordable Care Act takes full effect next year, and its top line finding is that insurance will be affordable. In other words, no rate shock.
Indeed, if you dig into the report, youll find more information that really bodes well for Obamacares implementation.
Specifically, the prices of the so-called bronze plans turn out to be very affordable, and even more so when you add in the laws subsidies which is very good news for those who worried people wont sign on to the exchanges."

So thats good. As for the larger context here, Steve Benen explains it well:

(87,627 posts)as for the benefits, the will be indisputable!
If Republicans continue pressing the repeal case, at a certain point it should presumably become clear that this repeal stuff Republicans keep talking about would take away things people have come to like.
From your link.
Thanks for the link to Steve Benen @ WAPO! This is great Cha!

The GOP keeps wasting tax payer dollars trying to overturn the law. This will be the the 41st time that they have tried to repeal this law. Where is the outrage from the Repukes. They waste money and do not deal with any pressing issues.

Progress is being made.
As for Syria. No decision has been made yet. It is not a black and white issue, there are many shades of gray. Do I want a strike no. Yet do I want another 110 thousand gassed. No. This is a horrible situation. I trust the President to make the right one.
As for ACA, if they wish to continue their attacks then we must fight tooth and nail to vote them out in 2014.
GOTV 2014.

(6,151 posts)It's just more proof of what Krugman said: Liberals and conservatives inhabit different moral universes.
Those guys are on the wrong side of history big time, and I hope that long arc of moral justice swings around and kicks their teeth out. When even the dumbest Repub realizes how they're being ripped off, there's gonna be major hell to pay. Well, some will never catch on, but I have hope enough will. Imagine continuing to suffer in your own home state and having to look around at the neighboring states whose improved condition puts the lie to every GOP statement they swallowed hook, line, and sinker. When those chickens come home to roost....
So even though I hope it doesn't come to that, denying any sizable portion of 30M Americans anything they see the others enjoying might wave that magic wand that crushes real GOP power for generations to come. If I live to be well over a hundred - as my genes favor - and somebody asks me that famous question "To what do you attribute your long life?" I know what I'll say. "I had to live long enough to see the g-d GOP DIE!"
Anyone who thinks I won't is in for a big surprise.

(87,627 posts)The GOP lost their immortal souls a long time ago. They are dead and do not even realize it. The walking dead. They want to rape, plunder and pillage anything and everything that is good for this country.
The clueless seem to be catching on, as seen at some of the GOP town hall meetings recently. People are not as stupid as the Repukes think.
May the GOP suffer the same pain that they are so willing to inflict upon 30 million Americans.
Long life, Irish~

(53,661 posts)The signs are very telling, aren't they?
First sign is a reverse of keeping Republicans out of women's bodies.
The next is a Randian meme of how doctors office are not found in nature, so let's abolish all medicine, anyway.
The last is really special, the racists show their Freudian slips again.
