(25,111 posts)included the costs of the wars into the budget, thats why the deficit was high. Pres O is cleaning up the mess but alas its seems like the same old crowd can't stand success with their constant tearing down which have spilled here which seems like RW trolls.
Cha
(305,447 posts)cost of Medicare D for drugs into the budget, either. Big shock.

SunSeeker
(53,698 posts)...that says the President is confused and needs to be told what his job is...then it's pretty hard for them to argue they're not RW!

(305,447 posts)As I wrote.. "Fucking Propaganda get a big Howdy Do on DU".
thanks for researching it for us!

(126 posts)But doing so is nothing like what Dubya did in Iraq. In this instance Obama has some evidence to believe that a dictator has used chemical weapons, rather than this inane suspicion. Furthermore, he's made it clear that no soldiers are going to be sent there, rather than deploying 1000+ men overseas. Again, I don't think it's wise to intervene, but it's not going to dominate the rest of Obama's presidency if he does.

cui bono
(19,926 posts)but things don't have to be completely equal to be compared.
There are definite similarities to the run up to the Iraq war even if there is a big difference. I haven't seen anyone say it's just like Iraq, just that things seem familiar, which they definitely do.
The justification given is sketchy. We know that PNAC had Syria listed as one of the countries they wanted to invade.
Syria is not a direct threat to us. It is not known for certain that Assad is the one who used chemicals.
And there are still private contractors that would make a lot of money, even if Biden doesn't own one of the companies.
Cha
(305,447 posts)fucking bushco's Iraq and PBO wanting to intervene in Syria. There's nothing similar about the run up to Iraq.
I Posted in the OP that this is the Barack Obama Group, in BIG BLUE Letters, for all to see. So I know you must have seen it, too.
We ask that posters respect this Group's Mission Statement .. I'm sorry you couldn't do that.
"...to provide a haven for those members of Democratic Underground who support the president and his policies;"

and this group is about FACTS.. not speculative spin on what might happen or propaganda from the profiteering left.
John Fugelsang is exactly right.

(10,893 posts)I am shocked. Generally he's been a pretty huge critic of Obama. I would've expected him to be one of those who are linking this situation to what happened under Bush ll and panicking.
