BOG post: "Obama is Outsmarting Everyone and Winning on Syria Without Firing a Shot"

By Jason Easley at PoliticusUSA

snip//

During interviews on CNN and Fox News, President Obama’s plan to destroy Syria’s chemical weapons without launching a single missile became obvious, as he is outsmarting the media and his Republican critics.

snip//

When asked by Wolf Blitzer if the proposal for Syria to turn over their chemicals weapons to the international community for monitoring was a way to possibly avoid a military strike, the president said:

"It’s possible if it’s real, and I think it’s certainly a positive development when the Russians and the Syrians both make gestures towards dealing with these chemicals weapons. This is what we have been asking for not just over the last week, or the last month, but for the last couple of years, because these chemical weapons pose a serious threat to all nations, and to the United States in particular. That’s why 98% of humanity said we don’t use these. That protects our troops and it protects children like the ones that we saw on those videos inside of Syria, so it is a potentially positive development."

It's worth reading the whole article in sequence and the video clip..

Nothing's for sure until Assad hands over his weapons and here's hoping he does.

It is hair on fire##$@!&*)*&_(&) Obama= Bush crowd, that spew this crap about Syria. They are lighting up the front page with their lies and innuendos about this President and SOS John Kerry. They believe they are privy to ongoing negotiations. They believe they know far more than our President. They are wrong. They are in fact woefully lacking any qualified information. Their only wish is to slam this President. They have proven that time and time again.

President Obama admitted that he had been discussing the international option on Syria with Putin since last year.

It turns out that all of the people on the left and right who were fooled by the pundits and hosts on cable news into believing that war was just around the corner were absolutely, completely, totally, utterly wrong. War is not around the corner. In fact, President Obama had a strategy to get Syria to the table. That strategy was to get the United States talking about striking Syria by asking Congress for authorization.

If President Obama wanted to strike Syria, he could have done so at any time. He didn’t, because military action in Syria was not what he wanted. The president wanted Syria to surrender their chemical weapons to the international community, and the best way to get Russia to listen was to turn up the heat by letting Congress debate a potential military strike on Syria.

what was going on behind the scenes(not very well anyway) because, you know.. equatinig him with bush however their twisted scenarios will let them is so much more productive(according to them). Not in the real world.

And, turn up the heat he did.. that had many lamenting that he never worked this hard for anything else. Conveniently forgetting about Obamacare, JOBS BILL, Global Climate Change(managing that without republicon support).. etc, etc, etc.

"President Obama admitted that he had been discussing the international option on Syria with Putin since last year."

Which is why the President said in the recent G20 meeting that.. "Mr Snowden didn't come up in the conversation." Turns out there's more important shit going on in the World. Right now.

Is it possible Barack is not worried about what people think of him,

Consider this -

JFK died as a direct result of his resistance to the MIC for war on Cuba/Russia imo.

Obama is MAKING the people speak, without concern for his own reputation,

keeping himself and his family safe.

It's all there. If you can stomach it, go into his interviews with the John Birch Society, the annual USS Liberty anti-Israel hatefest, and so much more.

Listen to how he and his guests cannot bear to speak the words 'Obama, liberals' or 'Democrats' without dripping vitrol. This is one of the most successful Libertarian venue to attact those who label themselves as dissaffected lefties who were 'betrayed.'

Along with Beck, it is the root of the charges of 'false flag' laid on Obama from Aurora to Newtown to Boston to Syria. It's a tightly knit cult, but the conclusion is always the same, that those who have principles and value freedom don't support Obama or the Democrats.

And good reply to those who have been dismissive of those who do this work day in and out. Yes, some people are good at their jobs, aren't they?

U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry (right) and Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov confer during a press briefing at the State Department in Washington on August 9.

Lavrov, Kerry 'Agree On Need' For Syria Peace Conference

August 10, 2013

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov says he and U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry have agreed on the need to start a Syrian peace conference in Geneva as soon as possible.

Lavrov made the remarks after talks in Washington on August 9 with Kerry.
Lavrov said he and Kerry agreed they should meet again by the end of August to prepare for the proposed Geneva talks.

Kerry said Russia and the United States needed to find ways to work around their differences on Syria’s civil war, and to make progress on missile defense, Afghanistan, and nuclear disputes with Iran and North Korea.

The talks came as the political mood between Moscow and Washington hit a low point – with U.S. President Barack Obama earlier this week canceling an upcoming meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin.

http://www.rferl.org/content/syria-lavrov-kerry-geneva/25071543.html

Will those who called Kerry a sell-out, MIC stooge and warmonger now pull Kerry out from under the bus and call him a peacemonger?

Sadly, I doubt it. They'll be onto the next ignorant media hyped outrage.

Because the media has taught them it's cool and smart to go after Obama and that the Democrats don't care or don't know what they're doing.

So they stay in that zone since it's all they know, they can't fight it. Some people forgot that Obama won the election twice, for good reasons, about ideals that matter.

They are so used to losing from the Bush years, they are in a state of shock and can't leave that state of sputtering outrage. Like a dog that chased a car and caught it, they don't know how to handle a victory.

JHMO.

They only think "it's smart and cool to go after Obama and the Democrats".. when actually it's stupid and self defeating unless you're a rw and then it's also stupid and self defeating. Unless, of course, you're Koch types that don't want taxes on the rich, want to do away with SS, Medicare, Education, batshit crazy everything that benefits America's People.

I don't think a lot of them want a "victory" if PBO and Kerry are the ones responsible.. which they clearly are.

Guano Apes - Proud Like A God

Have you ever been for sale?
When your isms get smart
Oh so selfish and mindless
With that comment in your eye

Do you think that you are hard?
Really harder than the other
Man you're acting cold
If you are not in charge

Don't split your mentality
Without thinking twice
Your voice has got no reason
Now is the time to face your lies

Open your eyes, open your mind
Proud like a God don't pretend to be blind
Trapped in yourself, break out instead
Beat the machine that works in your head

Will you offer me some tricks
If I ever need them
Would you go into that room
If I call 'em

Do you think that you are better
Really better than the rest
Realize there's a problem
I know that you can give your best

Have you ever had a dream?
Or is life just a trip?
A trip without chances
A chance to grow up quick

Open your eyes, open your mind...

Hide your face forever
Dream and search forever
Night and night you feel nothing
There's no way outside of my land

Open your eyes, open your mind...

39. Dunning-Kruger Effect at work:
Tue Sep 10, 2013, 08:47 PM
Sep 2013
The Dunning–Kruger effect is a cognitive bias in which unskilled individuals suffer from illusory superiority, mistakenly rating their ability much higher than average. This bias is attributed to a metacognitive inability of the unskilled to recognize their mistakes.[1]

Actual competence may weaken self-confidence, as competent individuals may falsely assume that others have an equivalent understanding. David Dunning and Justin Kruger of Cornell University conclude, "the miscalibration of the incompetent stems from an error about the self, whereas the miscalibration of the highly competent stems from an error about others".[2]

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dunning%E2%80%93Kruger_effect

I've found it to be true, as the most intelligent people I know are usually humble and open to listening, realizing there is so much to learn, that they cannot know it all.

Those who are arrogant and dismissive of seeking unpopular possibilities I have found on the other end of the scale, and are qutie sure of themselves. They have no reason to change their views, as they cannot maintain the neutral mental state to process information that might send them to find out more. They don't have respect for data or factual content, they decide quickly based on little knowledge what happens in front of them.

This can also be created by stress, narrowing the focus of awareness and causing the person to repeat the actions of others without thinking. I never discount it dealing with others. I know a stampede when I see one.
