The GOP tried to make the name "Obamacare" a slur. That's what they started calling The Affordable Care Act. Like everything the GOP does, they try to demean, ridicule and obstruct everything this President does. They flat out lie. They do this with self satisfied smug expressions on their faces.
After 42 votes, paid for by our taxes, they are in an all out last ditch effort to deny Americans a chance for affordable care. They have no problem letting us go without, they have their's and to hell with everyone else.
Sadly they have lost their way. They lost their moral compass. They have wrapped themselves in a mantle of inexplicable blind hatred of this President, in every way they have tried to take him down. In the end, I do believe that they have instead destroyed themselves. Their party, their image, their credibility, it's lost.
Obamacare, our President has embraced that. It was meant to harm him, it has not, he's a far bigger man than that.
Thank you Mr. President!

Did the gop pin the name Obamacare on to the ACA hoping it would keep republicans away?
Bad news for them..
"Disaster for the GOP as Republicans Are Flocking to a Key Obamacare Benefit"

The Republican effort to repeal Obamacare may hit a brick wall in their own party as 62% of young Republicans are signing up and staying on their parents health insurance
According to a study by The Commonwealth Fund, While public opinion polls have consistently shown a partisan divide in views of the health reform law, the survey finds that young adults who identified themselves as Republicans enrolled in their parents policies in greater numbers than young adults who identified themselves as Democrats. In March 2013, 63 percent of Republican young adults had enrolled in a parents policy in the past 12 months, compared with 45 percent of Democrats.
The study also found that the Republican misinformation campaign about Obamacare has been a failure, Starting in September 2010, the Affordable Care Act required all insurance plans offering dependent coverage to offer the same level of coverage at the same price to their enrollees adult children up to their 26th birthday. The survey finds that increasing numbers of young adults over the period 2011 to 2013 became aware of this requirement. By March 2013, 62 percent of the age group eligible to join a parents policy were aware of the provision. In particular, awareness increased among young adults with low income and those with a high school education or less, as well as among those who considered themselves Republicans and 23-to-25-year-olds.

(87,492 posts)President Obama has so effectively gotten his message out about the benefit of parents being able to keep their kids on their health insurance through college that nearly 2/3 of Republicans are taking advantage of this. It turns out that the president wasnt wasting his time. He was pushing back against a Republican misinformation campaign, and he won.

Yeah, that is probably why they pinned that name to ACA. You put Obama's name on it and people will run quickly into the night. Wrong! You know Cha, the GOP could be looking like heros right now. They already supported many of the elements of ACA. Just look at Romney-care in Mass. Sure it was strengthened by a Democratically held house and senate, however many of the basics were there.
Pretty sad that they let their hate of this President destroy much of their credibility.

(305,413 posts)that the White House hasn't gotten the message out on Obamacare, she!
Yes, they could have gotten on board ACA and built up some credibility and went after him on something else.. but, nooooooo.. that's not what the incoming teabaggers of 2010 were all about. They're the Ginni Thomas wingnuts of the teabagger party. "Obstruct Obstruct Obstruct".. "Until ya'll Destruct.. got it!"
