We can't even have a "me" society. We always have to deal with others, and have to have systems and institutions or it would all be anarchy. Ayn Rand was an idiot. I read a lot of her stuff. She just did not get people.

I remember reading Fountainhead in high school and realized that it was crap even then. How anyone can fall for that selfishness is amazing. It's all about "me, me, me and screw you". I'm still amazed that ole Ron had so many supporters (a lot of them on this board, sadly enough).

And it wasn't even assigned reading in school, I had just heard so much about it. Ha, I'm the type got in trouble for reading under the covers with a flashlight!

I love to read more than anything!

I read her essays, too. I was just curious I guess. And readings of her followers like Nathanial Brandon.

Boy those people were nuts. They lived in a bubble. Just so inhuman. What they said might have been logical in its way but it just left out any human feeling! Any recognition of human nature, that we are not robots.

I am so sorry!!! Sleep deprivation is a good possibility, but yikes! I seldom miss something in the BOG! It's my home away from home.

Your poll inspired me, and I needed that right now. I too am letting this all get me down. I always try to be positive. You and the President made me smile. I thank you freshwest.

A look at my Journal will show where my mind is at right now.

It's not a good place. Possibly no SS next month for well over 50 million Americans. And no end in sight. If you read my Journal and the posts with the links, you see my reasons for being upset.

One good thing that is sinking is in one of the posts. It is a thread by ProSense in which she gives another reason the GOP hates the ACA and is going all out to destroy it, other than the basics.

The basics being that it will work and convince people Reagan was wrong; that it registers people to vote, who will not vote for the GOP when they see that they have been lied to; and it forces the over privileged in Congress to start paying.

Remember the ruckus over CPI in 2012, etc? And the solutions being offered such as removing the cap on FICA taxes? The ACA did that in 2010.

Many that have defamed this president never gave him a chance because they did not read what a revolutionary law the ACA is. Of course, many who defamed him did because they did know what the law was going to do.

And those who claim there is no revolution by the ballot box, are just going along with the meme that 'voting doesn't matter' to avoid criticism by the group thinkers, influenced by pundits paid by rightists to repeat that endlessly, to maintain the worst of the status quo. It s a scam and won't help.

Because we saw a revolution in 2008, 2010 and 2012. Two to the left and one to the right. With default, 2014 won't be much of an issue, solutions and decisions will be made we don't want and they may come from the GOP in 2014 and Rand Paul in 2016 if the revolution at the ballot goes to the right again.

Very tough days ahead.
