President Obama Nominates Dr. Janet Yellen as Fed Chair

Today, President Obama nominated Dr. Janet Yellen to succeed Ben Bernanke as Chair of the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve. Dr. Yellen has served in leadership positions at the Fed for more than a decade, including the last three years as Vice Chair. She also served previously as the Chair of the Council of Economic Advisers, and was a leading researcher in monetary economics at Harvard and Berkely.

In government, Dr. Yellen has been known for her sound judgment and ability to build consensus. As an academic, she made critical contributions to understanding how monetary policy can make a difference for jobs, growth and the lives of ordinary people. 505 economists from more than 211 colleges and universities—including some of the country’s leading monetary economists—have signed a letter endorsing her for Fed Chair.

If confirmed by the Senate, Dr. Yellin would be the first woman to hold the position of Chair of the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve.

Incidentally, even she would look tall next to me. I think both Sasha AND Malia outgrew me recently. I'd have to climb a ladder just to shake hands with the President. But I wouldn't mind at all.

Oh, what's the use. I'd just choke out a little squeak and faint, and then never remember it after hitting my head on the side of the desk. It's hopeless.

Except, I must let these things out... or they just fester, ya know! From someone who is shorter than she wanted to be!

But it's not about the size of the dog in a fight, it's the size of the fight in the dog. Woof!

Short as I am, my favorite mare's withers were even with my chin. But she could outrun anything else on four legs. I was fairly good in tae kwon do, too - because I was hard to hit. No kidding. Short people have certain advantages.

At times I wish I had a tall SO just to reach shelves. Bad of me, I know.

I feel like an idiot having to get on a step ladder to get things in cabinets. I'm what is considered 'average.'

'It's always something,' I say when I want to complain, which makes me laught at myself...
