Not only for his moral development, but simply for escaping the situation into which he was born.

Good man. A good, good man.

We are having a special election here in Mass. December 10th, we fill the congressional seat, of Edward Markey. We elected him this summer to fill Kerry's Senate seat.

Katherine Clark (D) just won the primary. You can help us start here!

him, and posted on my FB about him and his win, celebrating

all the way. Sorry to hear he is already leaving.. We do

need more women in Washington, and I will certainly

do what I can to help Clark.. Count me in.

Just to let you know, I have been here reading on DU sense the Presidential

election, but just recently came on board. I love being here!!

Thanks for the update on the race Dec 10..

And Schaeffer has been a big supporter all along. He 'gets it.'

Journaling for those eyes, the window to the soul. Yes, we are blessed.

As one of our BOG folks said, that is the meaning of his first name, too.

They are freshwest, they truly are.

On October 10, 2008, a public letter to Senator John McCain and Sarah Palin from Schaeffer was published in the Baltimore Sun newspaper. The letter contained an impassioned plea for McCain to arrest what Schaeffer perceived as a hateful, and prejudiced tone of the Republican Party's election campaign. Schaeffer was convinced that there was a pronounced danger that fringe groups in America could be goaded into pursuing violence. "If you do not stand up for all that is good in America and declare that Senator Obama is a patriot, fit for office, and denounce your hate-filled supporters ... history will hold you responsible for all that follows."

Soon after Obama's inauguration, Schaeffer criticized Republican leaders:
How can anyone who loves our country support the Republicans now?
Barry Goldwater, William F. Buckley and Ronald Reagan defined the modern conservatism that used to be what the Republican Party I belonged to was about. Today no actual conservative can be a Republican. Reagan would despise today's wholly negative Republican Party.

In February 2010, Schaeffer accused President Obama's critics of being racist.

Schaeffer is a good man freshwest.

If Obama had been a selfish, cruel person the demonizing of him would be effective because he would absorb it.

But because he's a good, honorable person, the demonizing bounces off and reflects back to demonize the demonizers.
Ergo, the Tea Party has demonized itself in it's futile attempts to demonize Obama.
