They have his back

The hands of U.S. Secret Service agents as President Obama shakes hands along a rope line following a health care town hall meeting at Broughton High School in Raleigh, N.C on July 29, 2009 (Photo by Pete Souza)

"President Barack Obama Is the Most Threatened President In History."

I know how it makes me feel: wearied and worried; wishing sometimes that he hadn't been re-elected, because he made it safely through four years as our nation's first black President, and none of us want his luck pushed by hate. Read that sentence again; soak in the sorrow of those absent serifs.

We have 44 African-American Congresspersons (out of 435, or 10%, near-parity), zero black Senators (out of 100), 1 black governor (out of 56), and just 250-500 black mayors (out of 19,000 cities, or 2.6%).

But we do at least have one amazing black President.

The President is not made aware of all threats against him, however, because as the Secret Service says, "the sheer number would be overwhelming and, frankly, distracting."

That's 43,830 death threats for his first four years alone.

But he, the most threatened president in history, still gets up each day to fight for us, befall what may. For those of you who believe in a god, pray for our President, pray for us, that our fears and angst, that my wear and worry, end up being mere markers of the best in us, rather than a prescient affirmation of the worst in us.

The hate has rendered me speechless.

So many forget what was happening when he came to office. We were on our way to a great depression. He passed the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act. The Recovery Act was the boldest counter cyclical fiscal stimulus in American history.

Sadly the ridicule and animosity for this President is not one sided. It comes from both the right and sadly the left.

I am grateful that we were able to elect him not once but twice. He is truly our Transformational President. Our first black President did this, no wonder heads are exploding!

The hatred directed toward him sickens me.

He is really transforming this country FOR THE BETTER every single day. I am so happy that he is our President! "Hope and change" was not just a slogan but his agenda! I always tell anyone, he is the best President for women's rights EVER! Excellent on social and economic issues, too. And he believes in that crazy idea, world peace.

Ya know, they voted and then they all sat back waiting for their pony. They haz a sad they did not get that.

I got much of what I voted for and without this congress I would have had more. However, as President the unexpected happens, you have Egypt Syria Russia Ukraine Israel Palestine Hurricane Sandy Sandy Hook. So much more was put on his plate and he has handled it all with little help from the GOP.

We need to vote Kath! 2014 GOTV.

For us Kath! We vote!
