"Combating Terrorism".

BOR on FNC trashed the UN just last night. Eleanor Roosevelt would be proud to see and hear leaders speak today. It's so clear that this body still has the potential to save us from ourselves.

3. You can also go to the United Nations youtube channel for livestreaming and recorded events:

Yes, some good people are hard at work on the world's problem. As far as Eleanor and Franklin, I honestly think they've been spinning in their graves over what Faux is doing. It's going to be long haul to get past the regressive demagoguery.

But I agree, they'd love what the UN is doing now... in a world that needs unity more than it ever did.

I'll go looking at the event you mention here. Obama really did get to the real issues, and his solutions did not focus on bombs.

That's all the media is telling people, and DU is eating it up like candy. Some are even saying they are not going to watch any of these people speak, obviously they don't want anything good to interfere with this steady drip, drip, drip from all sides of media today.

After a while, it seems that is all there, and people expect their daily fix of it.

There's also UN's web tv page if CSPAN's not ready. It's in many language and takes time to listen to all the people in the world:

5. Thankful that I watched "The Roosevelts" in order to . . .

. . . put up with the Obama bashing here. Even Thom Hartmann has defended him to disenchanted, so-called liberals. Their ire is extreme and harmful to their stated ideals. And so short-sighted.

I'd look around for a way to see it. It's going to be shown again on some local pbs stations.

In his speech to the United Nations General Assembly today, President Obama opened with this:
We come together at a crossroads between...

War and Peace
Disorder and Integration
Fear and Hope.

Then he issued this challenge:
Fellow delegates, we come together as United Nations with a choice to make...We can reaffirm our collective responsibility to confront global problems, or be swamped by more and more outbreaks of instability.

Jennifer Bendery noted that in this speech President Obama used the word "collectively" 4 times, "together" 12 times, and "cooperation" 4 times. In other words, he suggested that we are at the crossroads of choosing between the blade of dominance and the chalice of partnership.
