March 6, 2015 by Samuel Warde
Heres a collection of 6 detailed quotes discussing the racism that has been directed at President Obama the last few years by Republicans.
Hank Aaron
We have moved in the right direction, and there have been improvements, but we still have a long ways to go in the country.
The bigger difference is that back then they had hoods. Now they have neckties and starched shirts.
Jimmy Carter
I think people who are guilty of that kind of personal attack against Obama have been influenced to a major degree by a belief that he should not be president because he happens to be African American.
Its a racist attitude, and my hope is and my expectation is that in the future both Democratic leaders and Republican leaders will take the initiative in condemning that kind of unprecedented attack on the president of the United States.
Morgan Freeman
Merle Haggard
Colin Powell
When I see a former governor say that the President is shuckin and jivin, thats racial era slave term. When I see another former governor after the presidents first debate where he didnt do very well, says that the president was lazy. He didnt say he was slow. He was tired. He didnt do well. He said he was lazy. Now, it may not mean anything to most Americans, but to those of us who are African Americans, the second word is shiftless and then theres a third word that goes along with that. The birther, the whole birther movement. Why do senior Republican leaders tolerate this kind of discussion within the party?
Lawrence Wilkerson, former Chief of Staff for Colin Powell

How then do the two Republicans in this group reconcile their allegiance to the GOP with what they know that the GOP increasingly stands for?

It is especially fascinating to me how (twice elected by actual American citizens) President Obama's skin is not actually black - it's TEFLON!. He just breezes past his haters and keeps focused on HELPING actual American citizens - the rich, the middle, the poor - even those who profess to HATE him. The rich have gotten lots richer under President Obama, the middle and poor have truly benefited as well - healthcare, jobs, LGBT rights, etc.. In a few generations, history books (or whatever is used then) will sing his praises. The younger generation of his current crop of haters will say how much their grandfathers loved and helped Obama. Imagine where we would be if they actually DID help him!
Thank you bsis. Those are great quotes, brings a tear to my eye how the Teabaggers, GOP, Press and sadly some Duers disrespect him and those that support the man.
