It's hard to be a supporter of the President around here

It's one thing to disagree with President Obama on a policy issue. But the anger and bitterness and vitriol and pettiness...I can't do it. I'm considering taking a break from DU for a while. I just can't stomach a lot of what goes on here these days.

Anyone else feel the same way? I'm sure I'm not the only one here who feels this way.

I am as against TPP as anyone, but that doesnt mean I join in the bashing.

It angers me that President wont tell us the real bottom line facts that either we do TPP or he has been informed we will be left behind

But then I would want to still dump TPP and do tariffs

was posted 5 times in Latest Threads and the president didn't actually say that Warren was dishonest but everyone ran with it and said he'd never been on our side that they would never vote for a 3rd way dem again.

Talk about a dishonest OP and overreaction. Posting it 5 times sure seems like someone has an anti-Obama agenda.

I'm still waiting to see with the TPP. The president used the anti-Obamacare death panels argument as an example of not jumping to conclusions on the the TPP.

There were scores of posts on this board against Obamacare back in the day that have been proven wrong so let's wait and see on TPP before slinging the vitriol at Obama (some of that IMO is subconscious racism coming out. Some of these posts bash Obama worst than they do Boner, and Ryan and Bush and Rubio and Paul the rest of the repugs for God's sake).

These people are here in an Operation Chaos-style against Hillary Clinton, trying to take her down using the TPP that NONE of them even understand, but "jus' cuz" some hair-on-fire Liberal pundit is against it. A few gratuitous RWers posing as Leftists join in on the bashing and then get lots of kudos.

True Democrats do research and keep an open mind in order to debate subjects they don't necessarily agree with but would like to know the facts before their minds turn to stone. That appears to be missing in the Obama-hater/Hillary-Hater group infesting DU at the moment.

May consider their respective views to be equally honest

I suspect when the document is made public, even if it is well done and incorporated the safeguards that seem to concern many, they will still reject it.

Reminds me what I think Maddow said regarding Hillary, if she came out and said she had the cure for cancer, some would still come out and say it was a bad thing

They are posting less and AA is pretty quite.

He has decided not to visit the site anymore, and I was sad to hear that.

He is tired of arguing with people, pointing out that one of the four all time biggest economic moments was during the Obama administration with the recovery of the market, the Dow Jones breaking 15,000.

He also cited a jobs figure and an ObamaCare signups number and one other, I've forgotten what.

And all people do is whine that it isn't enough.

He's in, he's awesome, he ain't perfect but he fought incredible opposition and won most of the time.

Now I'm just worried about how to replace him.

Where have I heard that before?

I can understand a few misguided people hoping for real change and not getting their idea of it, but far too many here complain that whatever we get from the Obama administration it's never enough.

but at least admit President Obama wants it because he thinks it benefits us. This language about wanting to join the 1% and screw us all is out of hand ridiculous. That's ODS for sure.

It's always the same people. They've found this as something to jump on.

being made right now on DU.

And that's not even from those who rec'd the tombstoned BBI and were listed as the tombstoned Will Twain's heroes. There are a ton of newbies who smell blood in the water and spew the vilest characterizations of Obama.

Then there are more 'Be nicer to the GOP' posts, from people who have been here long enough to know better. That along with those who sing Obama's praises for having helped them. But say they won't vote if a person they hate gets the nomination. Thus saying, 'I got mine, if the GOP eviscerates the ACA more than they have, screwing the poor, I got mine.'

That sort of stuff is beneath the contempt of the compassionate people I know as Democrats in real life. We've got a very large anti-Demcratic Party mob who've been ratfucked for years and refuse to admit they may be off, they love their own egos and show it in their vile accusations.

This is full-on hatred of Dems and our ideas here, using old themes that no longer fit the real world. So, yeah, you are not alone.

All of the worst predicted will occur in 2016, and many will die. But not the ones who are so proud right now. No, they are not in the same boat as the rest of us. They're willing to let that boat sink as they figure they have found a yacht to sail on. They won't be hurting, some have said as much.

They will not regret one thing if the GOP gets the White House in 2016 and undoes all that Obama has done for civli rights and the poor, and go to war. They will go with the flow, same as they have on these issues all along, and are having a great time now, they see the end of their obstacles to getting more for themselves.

I don't blame you for taking a break. A website with the user friendly features that Skinner and the crew created, is now working actively against the stated mission of the website. It was inevitable it would be taken over by trolls, and many have been here for years. The first years of DU had more trolls than Democrats posting.

And they're invigorated in their lust for our destruction. Repeat a lie or distortion often enough, and the purveyor wins. We're watching that before our eyes. You will NEVER get through to them. They are as well indoctrinated as Tea Partiers.

I suspect a number of people reading this place want to commit suicide from what is posted here. It makes them lose all hope for democratic government and the world in general. It's not good for one's mental and physical health.

I come here for the news only. I will not participate in the fecal matter that is being posted here. Take a break, I advise it. But you will be missed!

After reading Manny's threads along with his sycophants, I feel like taking a shower. It seems as though every time I visit DU, his latest rant against PBO is the first thread shown. I finally decided to use ignore with him, which is a sad statement.

And what again was the rational for creating The Discussionist? I haven't looked at it in months. Yes, I think a break is in order as well. I just get entirely too upset.

Enjoy the rest of the weekend!
