This seals the deal for me.
Look you wanna court Obama haters and still try for the Dem's nomination? That is a very slim tight rope to walk

(15,109 posts)But a bit divisive. And a bit disingenuous, I'm afraid. That isn't what Bernie was saying. You KNOW that.

(13,425 posts)I believe that he is intentionally distancing himself from the President in ways that leave him a degree of plausible deniability if he ever gets called on it
Walking the tight rope - trying to attract enough Obama haters without driving away too many Democrats

(15,109 posts)I was one of millions of people in 08 who volunteered for Obama's campaign.
Most of us thought Obama was the next FDR.
We helped him win decisively and then stood ready to hit the streets when he started using the bully pulpit for stuff like single payer healthcare.
He did not use the bully pulpit enough. He didn't trumpet his accomplishments enough. He did NOT activate the millions of Americans who joined him and got engaged. Rather we were just left wallowing in the sea of, "well, now I've won and I don't need you anymore."
Which makes me sick, not only for Obama's sake because he's been a good, if not great, president, but because of the GOP/Fox 'news' assholes who have denigrated his very humanity, as well as his presidency which will go down in history as successful.
So sergeant, we stood ready to hit the streets and he didn't call upon us. He did not lead us to make the changes I'm still convinced he knows need to be made. Now we have Obamacare which was a GOP corporate welfare program for insurance companies dreamed up by the Heritage Foundation, and the TPP which is the oligarchs' play to finally take over governance from many of the nation states. Read it if you don't believe me. It's a wader, but I'm telling the truth here.
That is what Bernie is talking about, and what many hundreds of people like me have been saying.
So now you do know shit.

Hillary is right. Bernie trashed Obama's policies routinely to me and other reporters, especially in 2011-2013 period.

The Bernie Bros will tell you that he is the most honest and most genuine candidate but he is deceiving them on many fronts.

(13,425 posts)Can be considered a non-politician or an outsider is curious at the very least.
Here is what I believe about Senator Sanders' recent "more in sadness than in anger" actions in regard to the President - It's a cynical attempt to harvest the fruits of 8 years of Obama hate while keeping his hands relatively clean.
He soft talks to both sides to allow our imagination to fill in the blanks with whatever motives you believe are appropriate but just off the top of my head Senator sanders has
Written a cover a blurb on a book critical to the President called "Buyers remorse"
Said that he regrets that Obama wasn't opposed in the '12 primary
Aligned himself with a man who said that "Obama Is A Rockefeller Republican In Blackface"
This is not illegal or even surprising - Triangulating to get support from as many factions as possible is POLITICS. Senator Sanders is a successful politician. No one gets reelected for that often without knowing what they're doing
Just quit telling me that he arrived riding a winged steed without the mud of battle on his shiny silver armor.

(60,945 posts)The free college education blows me away, to think there is a snowballs chance in hell of that ever happening in this country is nuts.
Not until there is a wholesale change in the mentality of this nation, and with the Trumps and Cruz' of the world, it is going the other way.
It's is a pipe dream at best.

(15,703 posts)Sanders has made a career out of bashing Democrats using whatever RW memes are at hand and is rarely held to account for it, here or elsewhere. And no one can say that Bernie doesn't have it coming as he's been bashing the Clintons since he launched his campaign.
