The Dallas man on trial for cooking his Chihuahua puppy on a stove said the appliance had been broken and suggested the puppy used his paws to turn up the heat, according to a recorded police interview shown to jurors Thursday.
Bradley Glenn Boley, 61, is accused of trapping Buddy, his 2 1/2 month old Chihuahua, in a kennel on a hot stove as punishment for nipping at him in February 2014. The dog later had to be put to sleep.
If convicted of animal cruelty, the jury could give him probation or sentence him to up to 10 years in prison.
The police interview came on the third day of trial and represented the first time jurors heard Boleys version of what happened.

(10,159 posts)Something cheap and quick, preferably with easy cleanup. $$30K a year to keep him locked up is far more than he deserves. OTOH, a "handle" of cheap liquor might be a death sentence, with as many brain cells as he has left.....
