It's definitely an authentic video.

This video was taken by an ROV (remotely operated vehicle) at a depth of 3753 ft in the Indian Ocean within close proximity to a drill wellhead.

The video has not been altered and was taken off the East coast of Africa.

... and you can see it eject an ink cloud as the thrusters push it away.

The pose in which it originally appears is hard to explain.

These creatures are red in color, which makes them appear black at depths where the light is strongly green -- however, this one appears to be pigmented black, so maybe a new (sub)species?
