In all my memory of past primaries (40 years) I have never seen a candidate that plays the victim

card and whines about everything when stuff doesn't go his way....even in 2008 with the hot primary between Hillary and Obama....neither of them resorted to level that we see from sanders every day. Obviously the difference in class and character is the answer....bernie is doing huge damage to reputation each and every day

any body remember any other primary with a whiner?

Of course, in my memory, a primary that I cared about always involved a Democrat vs. other Democrats and this sure isn't that.

The whole Sanders operation is lacking in class, character and credibility. They carry on like the upstart, back-woods outfit they are.

I shudder to think of Sanders on the world stage, for the same reasons that I dread the idea of Trump anywhere near the White House.

BS's name as a potential pick for VP. I couldn't have been more wrong. I think he's completely inept now, and I don't want him anywhere near the White House. The only thing he's good at is being divisive and holding us back.

from another one of my replies:

sanders doesn't resonate well with adult voters...those of us over 45....I see the same attitude with sanders supporters I see in several reddit forums like the personal fiance where they don't feel accountable for the mess they have made with college debt, personal debt...etc....that they are :the victim" and not the one who is responsible....sanders message is hey..."we are the victims" and its not our individual fault that we mess up....almost echos the huge push of the "self-esteem" bullcrap....where we have those that don't like to have nether winners or loser because it bad to inflict self-esteem issues on our kids

of course this make the kids pretty useless in real the world and thats what so much of today in sanders, his message and his followers

and I definitely believe sanders is a fake...he spouts all about caring and giving and helping and at least that is not backed up by with what he and jane give to charity...heck they barely make the "average" level of giving.....many times lower than I would expect by this guy who wants to help every one.

he is pretty much a fake....one that is the typical "do what I say...not what I do" kind of fake

and whines and plays the victim card....aptly suited for an angry old socialist who feels the rejection and lashes out the only way he can

It was the other reputation, the "principled statesman" reputation, that was the artificial construct, and the one that is falling apart at the seams these days. The whining, crying, complainer who accomplishes nothing? That's the Real Bernie Sanders.

were entertaining...never saw a statesmen ever in him....When I saw DNC allow him to run in our primaries...like WTF what are they doing for godsake, and then the entire silence by the media on sanders history and background .....and hillary's lack of any attention on sanders was another WTF moment.

we are here because nobody exposed the true bernie sanders. I can dare say the most totally UNVETTED candidate at this stage of the campaign in the same 40 yrs of me following.

The good thing, the actual democratic leaders and I would say most if not all of the super delegates know all they need to know that sanders would be crushed by Trump once media is down with bernie...

Its all in bernies mind that he is competitive in beating trump....all in his ego-driven mind...super delegates will not leave hillary...ever

I for one would prefer to see his committee involvement reduced or eliminated after this primary. We have other genuine Democrats who should get those positions, to use for their own career advancements.

Sanders won the Democratic primary, but declined the nomination, leaving no Democratic nominee on the ballot. This victory ensured that no Democrat would appear on the general election ballot to split the vote with Sanders, an ally of the Democrats, who has been supported by leaders in the Democratic Party.

It wasn't that he wanted to run as a Democrat, because he was given the Democratic nomination and then declined it. He just didn't want to competition to split the vote. Almost like he expected Democrats to hand him their votes...

The fact that he won his Senate seat due to a back-room deal with party leadership doesn't ever seem to be acknowledged by Sanders any more, though. Is he ashamed of the deal he cut or something? Or, more likely, does it undermine his entire "I'm so principled, I would never cut back-room deals" persona? I'm going with the second option on this one.

I think Democrats need to run an opponent against him in the next election, and if Senate leadership and the DSSC won't support that Democrat, then we the people should fund them instead.

His reputation is tarnished and he has shown that he will attack the Dems at the drop of a hat. I'm sure we can find many qualified Vermont Dems who can take that seat from him. I'd give money to see that happen.

They refuse to acknowledge that he broke his promise not to run in competitive states. And remember that crazy vote-swapping that was going on? Kind of tantamount to illegally selling a vote if you ask me. And....even if you agreed with anything in his platform, how could anyone think he would make a good President?

Especially here on DU. It's unlikely that they'll sway many voters.

To your question, however, I agree that it's distressing to hear the whining. Politics is a rough and tough pursuit and how a candidate wins or loses demonstrates character more than anything else that they say or do.

At the end of the day, and bak to my broken record: Vote a straight Democratic ticket in November.
