Hillary Clintons advantage over Donald Trump grew over the course of the last week, according to the results of the latest NBC News/SurveyMonkey poll released Tuesday.
In the same week that Clinton clinched the Democratic nomination and Trump continued his criticism of federal Judge Gonzalo Curiel, the former secretary of state leads 49 percent to 42 percent.
Clinton narrowed Trumps lead among men and white voters to single digits over the past week and now leads Trump by 25 points 58 percent to 33 percent among voters describing themselves as moderate. Trump led men by 14 points in last weeks survey but now leads by only 9 points in this weeks poll 51 percent to 42 percent. Among white voters, Trumps lead also shrank to 9 points, 50 percent to 41 percent.

(2,542 posts)If anything, Clinton's calm response should earn her more votes compared to Trump's moronic ravings.

(30,058 posts)Just as Trump did when he became the presumptive nominee. What will help Hillary after Orlando will be Trumps statements which shows his inability to be president and I will add Hillary was in her presidential mode on her statement. Trump is disgusting lots of Republicans, they may not vote for Hillary but perhaps the will not cast a vote for Trump.

I think they definitely played a big role in creating this monster - I hope this isn't too little too late.

We need to set our sights on Trump now.
Second place finishers can get with the program or go home to Vermont.

(4,187 posts)42% of the country supports Donald Trump. There are too many nutcases out there. 49% to 42% is way too close. We can't take anything for granted. We must all do what we can -- donate, make calls, knock on doors, talk to everyone we know -- to make sure Clinton becomes president.

(28,270 posts)Trump is a rolling freak show disaster for the republicans.
Every newsworthy event between now and then will expose the racist hate that fuels his campaign and drive more people to Hillary's side.
But yes by all means do all you can to see that she is elected because Trump in the white house is unthinkable.

(20,347 posts)He claimed he was going to pivot after the primaries and start acting "presidential"...claimed he could do it anytime he wanted.
He can't. He really cannot help himself because he is an ugly person and he cannot hide it.
Hillary is going to win not only because she's sane and has the right vision for the future of the country, but also because I believe most people know they could never live down having to say "I voted for Donald Trump for president."
