Hillary Clinton

Huffington Post:
The endorsement is expected to occur next Tuesday, when Sanders and Clinton will appear together at a rally in New Hampshire, Democratic sources first told NBC News on Wednesday.
Sanders all but confirmed that he would endorse Clinton in an interview with Bloomberg on Thursday.
We have got to do everything that we can to defeat Donald Trump and elect Hillary Clinton, he said, adding that I dont honestly know how we would survive four years of a Donald Trump .

(30,481 posts)That's strange on its own. Kind of the way it is when every single Democrat with influence has already endorsed her. It's less of an endorsement and more of a welcome to the party at this point.

(42,862 posts)Yep, that's a good way to describe it.
Maybe he'll stay, maybe he won't. Who knows? (Personally, I believe that if he decides to run for office again, he'll do so as an Independent rather than a Democrat.)
And in so-doing (if he so-does) he'll have answered the question often heard from his most ardent supporters with regard to why so few "establishment" Dems actually bother to take him very seriously.
If he doesn't care enough to show up on time and support our party's nominee, then why should I care that he eventually decided to grudgingly come-around and give a little insincere lip-service.

(6,551 posts)They will examine his endorsement speech, line by line. As will Democratic Party leaders and delegates.
If it's a half-backed endorsement, he should lose his speaker slot at the convention.

(15,496 posts)I don't think the narrative could be more unenthusiastic. People have grown very weary of it.
So true.

(24,630 posts)Because he has to end his campaign, and endorsing Hillary will end his campaign.
Active candidates are not given speaking spots at the convention.

(42,862 posts)... for his OWN benefit? (It figures.)
Oh well.

(12,168 posts)We will all be in for another round of the stump speech after one or two lines regarding his endorsement of Hillary Clinton.
Will the SS detail go away finally?
Cha
(305,406 posts)Finally we can move forward without the primary drag. I am very happy with Bernie's projected attitude while he endorsed--a happy surprise.
Do you know if the SS detail is gone?
Cha
(305,406 posts)I know nothing about that.

(12,168 posts)After he endorsed--SS gone. He is no longer a candidate.
Have a wonderful day
