How Hillary Clintons 1.4 Million Popular Vote Lead Broke Records

How Hillary Clinton’s 1.4 Million Popular Vote Lead Broke Records
Published 9:12 pm EST, November 18, 2016 Updated 6:35 am EST, November 19, 2016 By Jessica McBride

Hillary Clinton’s popular vote lead over president-elect Donald Trump has grown to more than 1.4 million votes, and it’s smashing records.

Clinton is number 3 in all-time presidential popular vote totals in United States history, and her tally is still growing, largely because of uncounted ballots remaining in blue California. As of November 18, more than 2.8 million votes remained unprocessed in that state. No candidate in American history has ever won this many popular votes and lost the presidency.

Clinton’s margin over Trump is greater than the margin in multiple historic elections, including since 1900.

1.15 time higher? 1.5? I think the DNC probably plans around massive in-your-face cheating so that to actually win Hillary would need to win x 1.15, and when it wasn't an out-and-out blowout, she took a bow. So when the chorus of why-did-she-concede-so-soon begins, that's the answer.

Second point: this is exactly the scenario I foresaw back at the start of the primary and exactly why I thought opening it up was a terrible idea. Getting chopped to pieces by online piranha and wasting millions on blue states like California was utterly counterproductive and now we have Trump. Sigh.

Who won the popular vote?

A: Clinton's lead of more than 2 million votes, according to the Cook Political Report, continues to increase, largely due to an influx of absentee and provisional ballots still being counted in California. She has about 64.2 million votes to Trump's 62.2 million; her margin in California alone is more than 3.7 million.

Yep and it turns out that insta-meme about low turnout having decided the election was total baloney also. And yet I read that it was repeated on a Sunday show this week by the senator.
