ST ANDREW, Jamaica Five men were arrested, and a substance believed to be cocaine valued at over US$75 .5 million seized during an anti-narcotic operation carried out at an upper St Andrew home on Tuesday.
The identities of the men have not been disclosed.
A team of police officers from the Firearms and Narcotics Investigation Division (FNID) within the Counter Terrorism and Organised Crime Investigation Branch (C-TOC) carried out the operation resulting in the arrests and the seizure of a number of knitted bags believed to contain cocaine.
The substance weighs 2,526.4 kilograms and has an estimated street value of US$75,792,000 ($J11.7 billion), police said.

Just heard one of those arrested is a Colombian and another a Jamaican who was deported from the USA.
Yesterday was Independence Day in Jamaica. That raid must have been one hell of a surprise given the long weekend from August 1 (Emancipation Day) to Independence Day.
