died overnight. A distinguished professor, Roy lived most of his life in Jamaica. He was 100 years, one month and a few days. He was lucid to the end. He was loved.

I'm sorry for your loss, but it was wonderful to learn about someone like Roy Augier.

Like quite a few West Indians, as a very young man he volunteered for Britains Royal Air Force (RAF). After training in Canada and Britain, he took part as a gunner in incredibly dangerous bombing missions during the last two years of World War II.
