Climate, Environment, and Conservation: Secretary Kerry To Deliver Remarks at National Energy Action
Secretary of State John Kerry will deliver remarks at the D.C. Greening Embassies Forum event, Clean Energy and Efficiency in D.C. and Around the Globe, on October 29.
Secretary Kerrys remarks will focus on U.S. Government and U.S. Department of State efforts to promote a cleaner, more efficient energy future, and to support U.S. diplomatic missions using more sustainable energy practices. The Secretary will also highlight the Presidents Climate Action Plan and the relationship between clean energy, energy efficiency, and addressing climate change at home and abroad.
As part of the forum, Denis Hayes, co-founder of Earth Day Network and CEO of Bullitt Foundation will provide the opening remarks. Deputy Assistant Secretary Jonathan Pershing of the U.S. Department of Energy; Jonathan Powers of the White Houses Council on Environmental Quality; Under Secretary of State for Management Patrick Kennedy; Special Envoy and Coordinator for International Energy Affairs Carlos Pascual; and Energy Resources Bureau Deputy Assistant Secretary Julia Nesheiwat will also provide remarks.
The event is organized by the D.C. Greening Embassies Forum, which is a partnership between the U.S. Department of State, the Earth Day Network, and the D.C. diplomatic community.
Secretary Kerrys remarks will begin at 4:30 p.m. in the George Marshall East Auditorium, at the Department of State.
