That's my only explanation.

Here's the short list of Democratic Senators that voted against this trash:

The final vote was 86-13. No votes were Lee, Paul, DeMint, Risch, Crapo, and Coburn (the last three not on civil liberties grounds), and Cardin, Wyden, Sanders, Durbin, Franken, Harkin, and Merkley.

doesn't represent his own views, but rather the position of the White House. If he was not part of the administration, it is possible he would express a different point of view.

It is really disappointing that after the horror of the Bush years, Democrats would actually vote for this. It scares me, because clearly once a right is taken away, it is hard to get it back.

he advised Obama not to surge in Afghanistan but Obama listened to the Generals and did, Joe put the best -- SUPPORTIVE -- spin on it he could.

I think if Joe were at the helm he wouldn't have supported it in any way. I like to think that, anyway.

for Joe to speak for the White House instead of speaking his own mind, something he has been doing so freely for so many years. I'm sure many people didn't think he could do it.
