Joe Biden camp to allies: Be ready

CNN)Vice President Joe Biden has personally made a series of calls this week to Democratic strategists from Iowa, New Hampshire and South Carolina, asking a final round of detailed questions about how -- not whether -- to launch a 2016 presidential campaign.

People familiar with the conversations tell CNN that Biden has been making the calls throughout the week, including on Wednesday, just as many leading Democrats argued the window to a potential candidacy was closing in the wake of Hillary Clinton's strong performance in the party's first presidential debate. He is asking these people to work for him if he runs.

The vice president has been making clear that his family is fully supportive of him jumping into the 2016 race, according to people familiar with the calls. They are guided by the belief that he has the best chance of keeping the White House in Democratic hands and he could forever regret taking a pass at another shot at the presidency.

is pretty much a done deal no matter who the Dems nominate. But, this could well be the true assessment of the race. None of the Rs look good standing beside Biden.

group of republican candidates I have ever seen and there are more of them than ever before. Bernie, Hillary, or Joe would cream any of them easily.

He'll do one of two things...He'll win.

Or, he'll cut Hillary's lead and maybe Bernie will win.

I could stand Joe or Bernie, in fact I like them both.

Whatever one would win would make me feel bad for the other.

as I hate to see any of them lose, but my first choice is still Joe. I feel badly for Hillary sometimes, as she has been raked over the coals by republicans and the press for 25 years. I can't blame her for being so careful and defensive, but she often comes across as "untrustable"!

due to the youth vote and 99 percenters who know it's in their best at least short term interest and THEN someone like Bush feels safer to the average voter - yes a Repuke could still win.
