Related: About this forumHave you ever been propositioned by a woman for the purpose of pregnancy?
This thread is inspired by a comment in another thread suggesting that the belief "that men should control their fertility vigilantly" is a misogynist view because "women tricking men into sex to get pregnant is a misogynist myth".
The implied primary audience for this poll is straight men.

I have been approached for sex for the explicit purpose of pregnancy. (For purposes of this poll, this excludes a woman to whom you were married)

I had sex with a woman "using birth control" who got pregnant in that immediate timeframe. (For purposes of this poll, it doesn't matter if you were the baby's father)

There's no shortage of examples of women tricking men into getting them pregnant. There's also no shortage of self-proclaimed feminists who're willing to pretend that women alone have grievances that need addressing, and that the world is all rosy and perfect for all men.
This outlook is at best, myopic.

(36,900 posts)I used a condom anyway on both occasions, but were told by both of them it wasn't necessary. One of them didn't know I used a condom and later claimed she was pregnant (even though she wasn't). She later did manage to get pregnant by someone I know (unplanned at least by him). They got married and it ended badly a couple years later. For both of those two, I found out they weren't from mutual acquaintances. I've had sex with several other women who claimed to be on BC. I suspect most or all of them were, but used a condom anyway.
There ARE some women (and men) who are infatuated with getting pregnant or getting someone else pregnant for whatever reason and they care more about that than who they are getting pregnant with. I certainly don't believe this behavior reflects the vast majority of women, but it is out there and it sure as hell isn't "misogyny" to say so.

(8,692 posts)She said intended to give birth in England and my name would be out of it completely. She married another woman a few years ago.
I thought it seemed like a spectacularly bad idea, but I subsequently learned I was sterile regardless.
