Ive been enjoying the hell out of that show. After Season I I went and read the books, as fans no doubt know it looks like the series is diverging more from the books this season. I think the writing has been a bit weaker, but I also get the challenge of compressing such a rich narrative into a season of 10 1 hr. episodes.
Anyway, I've found it to be pretty good television, of course HBO often does good work.

(34,201 posts)Right now season 1 and 2 episodes are all "on demand". The season will be over soon. Make a call to cancel HBO and you're caught up.

(10,129 posts)looks pretty epic... the wife and I are big fantasy/medieval/LOTR type fans here anyway, so yeah, seems right up our alley... I just may see about getting season one tomorrow after the clam dig.

(61 posts)I was worried that it might not be as good as the books, but I was happily suprised. Looking forward to seeing season two.

(8,556 posts)It really hits all of the bases. They took some time setting up this season's plot, but now that we're in the second half of the season it's moving really fast.
Can't wait until tomorrow's episode.

(61 posts)Always pisses me off when I really get into a series on HBO and they stop after two seasons.
Rome, for example.

(8,556 posts)From what I remember it was given a short run because it was so expensive to produce.
I assume Game of Thrones is very expensive too, but it does seem to be doing better than Rome.

(2,707 posts)That one had a lot of story left to it.

(2,707 posts)Watched season 1 and then read all the books. Most of the things that differ from the book seem to be minor enough to not make much difference. Some of them I wonder about though, like why isn't Robb's love the daughter of a Lannister bannerman (something I think is a very important point later on.)
