from gasbuddy saying releasing crude from the SPR wouldn't help because it would only provide enough for 6 days of global production. What idiot proposes we run the entire planet out of the SPR?

If they released all of the SPR (which can't be done, but that's a separate matter), it would last 165 days here in the U.S., so there's plenty.

Doing one release would be a mistake, as the Saudis could easily withhold the equivalent amount. No, they need to do weekly releases, week after week after week, and the Saudis couldn't afford the drop in revenue. Once crude starts to fall, it would be like a snowball rolling downhill.
