Next week, well get more clarity on how rising inflation and COVID-19 cases are impacting the economy.
Inflation and consumer sentiment is on the agenda, with several important economic data points being released including the Survey of Consumer Expectations, core inflation, retail sales and the NFIBs Small Business Optimism Index.
Investors will get insight into the impact COVID-19 and inflation are having on the economy next week. Core inflation for December will be of particular interest. After soaring to a more than 30-year high in November, investors will be looking to see if its finally starting to ease. The monthly Producer Price Index will also be released next week. Wholesale prices climbed last month at a record-setting pace. Also be on the lookout for the Small Business Optimism Index, mortgage applications, retail sales and weekly jobless claims.
