Investors will gain more insight into how consumer spending and the housing market are doing with key real estate data slated for release next week.
Homebuilder sentiment, existing home sales and retail sales are all on tap, providing a sneak peek into how consumers feel about their bank accounts and spending levels.
Omicron cases are starting to decline, but whether or not consumers are feeling better about their finances remains to be seen. Investors will get additional clarity on this and more with several key economic data points scheduled for release next week.
The Producer Price Index for January is due to be released on Tuesday. This gauge tracks wholesale prices for goods produced in the U.S. Additionally, retail sales for January will provide a glimpse into consumer sentiment, as will existing home sales for last month. Also slated for release are weekly initial unemployment claims and the housing market index for February.
