60 House Republicans call on Speaker Mike Johnson to pass Farm Bill

More than 60 House Republicans are putting pressure on newly-minted Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) to pass the Farm Bill.
The omnibus appropriations bill expired at the end of September amid broader disarray in the chamber casting the future of a wide swath of American food and nutrition programs into doubt.
Now a coalition of agriculture state Republicans are pushing the Houses new leader to pass a new bill before the funding runs out.
The signatories, which included leading Republicans from key agricultural states like Iowa and South Dakota, called the bills lapse a matter of national security.

(19,137 posts)I think this is only number 5. They need to work quickly to get them all passed and signed by the president by November 17. Even if this is one of the farm welfare ones, it needs passed like all the others.

Getting a five year Farm Bill passed is essential to maintaining the safety net for poor Americans, both rural and urban.
