Some of the biggest financial institutions in the world (like Blackrock) as well as many startups have been developing nascent projects, which leverage blockchain technologies (DLT) to provide a means of fractionalizing RWAs (real world assets) into a transferable and tradable digital form.

As with any investment you need to do your research into the company. It might be a way for small investors to set money aside with relatively low risk.

Of course the devil is in the details.
