What we're covering here

• The October jobs report is set to be released Friday at 8:30 am ET, the last significant piece of economic data before the US presidential election.

• It’s going to be unusually volatile, with economists forecasting anywhere from a negative number to 180,000 jobs added.

• Two major hurricanes and a large number of striking workers are expected to have a negative impact on the data.

• The economy remains the top issue for the majority of voters, and Republicans could seize on any downtick in the data, while a positive report would work in Vice President Kamala Harris’ favor.
