A bakery that employs 172 people in Bellevue, Nebraska, is closing.

The Bimbo Bakeries facility will close by early July, the company said in a release. Located at 1310 Fort Crook Road North, the bakery produces bread and buns.

“This was a difficult decision because of the dedicated teams and community connection of the Bellevue Bakery,” said Marco Espinoza, senior director of regional operations. “However, after careful analysis and consideration, it was apparent that the facility did not have the infrastructure and manufacturing capability to compete in the marketplace.”

According to the company, human resources representatives will meet with employees and union representatives to discuss severance and other benefits, as well as resources available to assist affected employees.

I sent this to him. Offut Air Fore base is there as well.

I am sure he is aware of this. 172 jobs is a lot to lose for such a small town.
