he Teamsters Union on Wednesday declined to endorse any candidate for president, the first time in decades that the organization hasn't backed a candidate in the presidential election.
"Neither major candidate was able to make serious commitments to our union to ensure the interests of working people are always put before Big Business," Teamsters General President Sean O'Brien said in a statement.
He added, "We sought commitments from both [former president Donald] Trump and [Vice President Kamala] Harris not to interfere in critical union campaigns or core Teamsters industriesand to honor our members right to strikebut were unable to secure those pledges."
The union's decision comes two days after senior leaders met with Harris as they weighed who to endorse.

OP
They were demanding promises, and Harris rightfully would not make any promises.

(11,134 posts)1. This will help Harris with independents and never Trumpers.
She didn't pander enough to get the Teamsters endorsement shows an independent streak.
The Teamsters could hardly endorse Trump because he rarely keeps his word.
Think. Again.
(17,907 posts)5. I agree...
...the teamsters were demanding promises in exchange for an endorsement, and although Harris is clearly the best pro-worker, pro-union candidate, she wouldn't make any promises, and rightfully so.

have a lot of trumpers in their ranks.

they represent all the membership, One bad thing about the Teamsters leadership is they represent all the membership....

They endorsed Clinton, they endorsed Biden, why not Harris?
Think. Again.

One can just imagine what they were.
Breaking a bad habit, I won't speculate.
