Finally figured out the 2018 tax schedule
Like many seniors we pay estimated taxes and the first are due April 15.
So I estimated the income and the deductions and then... what? Where are the schedules? Or, at least, the tables? They have all the info for employers for withholding but this does not help.
Googling just gave me the brackets but not the schedule. The irs.gov is a mess. Form 1040-es should have it, but there is not one for 2018. And, yes, they do have it early in the year precisely for those of us who have to pay estimated taxes in April.
Finally decided to open the Motley Fool link and... applause. They have them for singles, for head of households, married filing jointly and separately.
So if anyone needs them

(This is how I found out that for 2018, the tax "reform" will cost us $500 more in taxes. It is the loss of the $8100 exemptions. But, hey, the Trump spawns will not have to pay estate taxes..)

(52,153 posts)you have the ACA with subsidies. I am ill and on an extremely limited income and have been worrying if I will be able to figure it all out this year. Thanks for posting the link. I have a feeling I will need to take a couple of Xanax before I attempt this frustrating task

(36,518 posts)I need the form to figure this years estimated tax before I can file. The form on the program is still the one from 2017
and it says I can't file my 1040A until an update is available for the estimated 2018 tax. I found the tax schedule on a different
site and figured I will save $793 this year.

(26,544 posts)that are very slow to get me all the paperwork I need, I don't get to file until April. Last year I didn't owe anything, and I probably won't this year. But we will need to have a discussion about what happens in the coming years. Hopefully I still won't owe anything, but I'll just have to wait and find out.
