Never subscribe to anything from InvestorPlace. Never. It is a Porter Stansberry operation
and Stansberry is a literal fuckhead.
I signed up almost 2 years ago to "The Independent Adviser for Vanguard Investors". I was and am very satisfied with the quality and usefulness of this monthly newsletter with a weekly email mini-newsletter.
One problem though is that it is published by InvestorPlace, which is a fuckhead Stansberry operation.
After about a year I started getting almost daily spam from InvestorPlace clowns for this, that, and whatever. Clicking unsubscribe at the bottom of such emails did no good -- and yes, I waited 7 to 10 days after each request. This went on for about 2 months. Finally I wrote an email and it stopped. Not too bad.
But then in the past few months, I've been getting spam for "special offers" to extend my subscription to The Independent Adviser for Vanguard Investors (even though I'm subscribed through December 2020) ... I wrote in to ask them to stop sending me these and other promotional offers and they emailed back and agreed.
But then about a month later I started getting them again.
Repeat the last 2 paragraphs about 3 times. That is, about 2 or 3 more times they started spamming me again, and then I wrote about it, and they agreed to stop. And it stopped. Then resumed about a month later.
Well, now they've informed me that they have cancelled my subscription. Something I explicitely did NOT request, I just asked them to:
cancel the spamming emails. The ones that constantly bombard me with great deals to renew my subscription
I don't know if there is a refund coming for the remaining issues (13 months worth!), the cancellation email I got from them was vague

If your payment was made with account credit, this credit amount will be applied back to your account within 24 hours. Otherwise, you will receive the refund of $0 within 5-10 business days.
